Boaz Dorot

Boaz Dorot is a composer, arranger, choir conductor, pianist, and music educator based in Jerusalem. He serves as Musical Director of Kehilat Kol HaNeshama in Jerusalem and directs music for the Israel Movement for Reform and Progressive Judaism’s Biennial Conferences and the World Union for Progressive Judaism’s Connections Conferences. He has twice received the Guild of Temple Musicians’ Young Composer Award.


Together with Cantor-Rabbi Shani Ben-Or, he co-founded the Nigunim Ensemble, a pioneering group that creates, arranges, and performs sacred music to accompany Reform and pluralistic religious services across Israel.


Boaz teaches music theory at the High School Division of the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance. He also teaches music theory and the modes of Jewish prayer at HUC-JIR in Jerusalem, in the Cantorial Track of the Year-in-Israel program.
