Melissa Frey serves as the executive director of Purdue University Hillel Foundation in West Lafayette, Indiana. Melissa embodies an impressive background of ethical leadership and innovative engagement strategies, with a particular focus on Jewish GenZ. Melissa spanned a 20-year career at the Union for Reform Judaism (URJ), with twelve years as the director of URJ Kutz Camp in Warwick, NY. Throughout her experiences working in formal and experiential Jewish education, Melissa has developed transformative curricula and deep and intentional Jewish communities. Coming to Purdue Hillel was a homecoming for Melissa, as she is an alumna of Purdue University, having earned a Bachelor of Arts in Visual Communication Design. She also earned a Master of Fine Arts from the University of Texas. Melissa relocated to West Lafayette during the summer of 2021 with her two-year-old Mexican rescue dog, Mia Star.
